Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Pastel pink streaks of clouds coated the horizon as the sun set far in the distance. The long journey out of the dungeon had made you weary, exhaustion weighing heavily on you. In the fading sunlight, faint stars had begun glistening in the vast sky, distant silhouettes of flying Pokémon soaring by overhead. You passed large patches of lush green grassland, and tall trees with vibrant bushes of leaves. A cool gentle breeze brushed over you as you followed the Corvisquire ahead of you, leading the way confidently and surely with each turn he took.

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Finally, arriving at the village, Nevermore stepped in front of you and held out his wing with a prideful caw as he gestured widely to the large building before you. It appeared to be a large wooden structure with an open front entrance. Flowers of many vibrant shades of purple and pink adorned the building generously, with several hanging down from the doorway.

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

“Welcome to Memoria Village... And this here is the Golden Orchid Guild! This building serves as the main place of operations for our group, with many of our very own guild members calling it home. Inside, we can show you around and help get you up to speed.”

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

"Once you’re appropriately introduced, then you will be given a choice! If you’re still interested, then you may take on a trial that will allow you to join the guild. Sound good?"

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

Nevermore caws happily and gives you a proud smile. He nods, then turns his head toward the open entrance.

"Well then, in that case, let’s go!"

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

Nevermore tilts his head at your words and contemplates quietly for a split second, before speaking again, great care and concern lacing his voice.

"I do understand such hesitation, of course. If it makes any difference, you’re perfectly free to refuse to go through with the trial if you find you are no longer interested in joining!"

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

"How about you just let me give you a tour and you can stay the night? You can decide in the morning whether you’re interested or not. Alright?"

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

Nevermore turned, leading you inside the grand Guild. Many Pokémon passed by you, all seeming busy with something important, or returning from what you could only assume to be some sort of exhausting journey, not too unlike the one you’d just finished embarking on. Warm light bathed over you as you followed Nevermore further into the Guild.

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

???

"Welcome back, Nevermore!"

A tall Lucario greeted the Corvisquire, approaching you and the Guildmaster. You immediately caught his eye, the Pokémon turning to look at you curiously.

"Ah, who is this? A new member?"

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Tundra

"Oh, is that so? Well, it’s very nice to meet you. My name’s Tundra, the Guild’s Second-In-Command, as well as the Guild’s expert on the dungeons around this region. If you ever have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask!"

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

"They’re a visitor, and hopefully a new member, should they decide the offer interests them. For now, I’m simply showing them around and explaining how our system works."

Nevermore then turns to you, smiling warmly.

"This here is Tundra, my Second-In-Command. If you ever need any help at all, and I’m not around, he’ll be more than willing to assist you."

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

Saying farewell to Tundra, Nevermore continued leading you around the Guild, occasionally gesturing with his wing, warm pride emanating from him as he spoke.

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

"And this here is our Questboard! Pokémon in need will often leave missions here in return for rewards and our valued teams will take up the listed jobs. Many, if not a majority of the quests, will all take place in Mystery Dungeons, but should you decide to join us, Tundra will give you a better explanation on how they’ll operate, as they’re his expertise."

Act 0. [ Part 1 ]

Nevermore

As the tour came to an end, he led you to a hallway that branched off into several small rooms.

"That’ll be all for tonight. You should get some rest, or perhaps just settle in and see how you feel. Tomorrow, you can decide what you’d like to do. Or perhaps you’d like to get to know the Pokémon around town before coming to a decision, as many of them will be key to aiding you in your travels. Either way, you can worry about that in the morning. Goodnight, hope you rest well!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Beams of sunlight shine upon you, stirring you from your sleep. You awake, finding yourself still within the Guild bedroom. You take a moment to recollect yourself, remembering the events of the day prior.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

A few moments later, Nevermore appears, greeting you with a warm smile.

"Good Morning! Did you sleep well?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"That’s wonderful! Then I hope you’ll have a wonderful day, now that you’ve recovered your energy! Come and meet me in the main area whenever you’re ready and we’ll get started with the day."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Ah.. I see. That’s unfortunate. A restless night, I suppose? Well, we’ll make sure to take it easy today then, alright? Being in a new place can surely make it difficult to get a good night’s rest, so don’t worry too much about it!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Just take your time, alright? I’ll be waiting in the main area whenever you’re ready. Just let me know."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Once you feel fully awake, you finally exit your room, seeking out the Guildmaster. It doesn’t take too long to find him right where he said he’d be, waiting patiently for you with his signature friendly smile. Standing beside him is his partner, Tundra, who gives you a small nod. With Nevermore gesturing to you with a wave of his wing, you approach the two Pokémon.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Glad to see you finally up and ready! Tundra and I have been discussing the plans for today, but we’re still rather busy, so only one of us will be able to leave the Guild today to show you around the town. We hope you don’t mind too much."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"Of course, the choice is yours, whoever you’d rather go with you. Nevermore knows better about the more functional side of the town, but I know some pretty good social areas if you don’t mind some of the business owners getting a bit conversational. Just let us know what you’d prefer, and we can set out as soon as you’re ready."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Yes, of course, of course! I’d be delighted to show you around.
Tundra, would you mind keeping an eye on things while we’re out?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"Don’t worry about a thing. Stay safe, both of you."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

With that, Nevermore happily leads you out of the Guild, heading down the small path that led to the nearby town. Even in the early hours, it was still fairly busy, with many Pokémon bustling around. Many stalls greet you, decorated with colorful canopies to shelter them from the wind and rain, giving the stalls an almost tent-like appearance. All kinds of Pokémon are sitting behind the counters, greeting customers and running various different businesses. After a moment, the Guildmaster turns towards you, gesturing towards the various stalls.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Amazing, isn’t it? Well, there’s a few places I can show you that would be pretty important for a new Guild member. Any place here catch your eye?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Yes, yes, of course! Just follow me, and I’ll introduce you!"

Following Nevermore, he leads you to an unusual stall, made of pure wood rather than canopies like those surrounding it. The structure is shaped to resemble a giant treasure chest with a single curtain at the front rolled up to allow customers to see within. Atop the wooden counter sits a much smaller chest. Nevermore shoots a quick glance around, seeing the stall seemingly empty, then calls out.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Auryn? Auryn, are you here? I have someone here with me I wish to introduce to you!"

Almost at once, the treasure chest on the counter opens up, revealing a small Gimmighoul who eyes you skeptically.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Auryn

"Introduce me, huh? …I haven’t seen your face around. You new here?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Auryn

"Oh. Well, then! Nice to meet you! You don’t seem too bad, so I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to introduce myself as well. I’m Auryn. I run the Bank in this town, and do a great job at it if I do say so myself. I take great pride in protecting what belongs to our citizens, so no thief has any hope getting past me, unless they wanna get hit with a pretty hard Take Down. You can trust me to keep your belongings safe, so feel free to stop by any time!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

Nevermore nods in agreement and gives Auryn a prideful smile, then he turns back to face you, letting out a small chuckle. The guildmaster seemed quite pleased, watching you quietly for a moment before speaking up.

"The bank has had a great reputation for staying secure and honest, so it’s definitely worth a shot visiting again soon, I’d say!"

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Mhm, they’re new around here, so I’m showing them around the Guild and town. With some luck, if everything goes well, they’ll become another member at the Guild."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Auryn

"A new member of the Guild, huh? Well, then, I suppose I should explain my business to you, seeing as you’ll need it if you’re gonna be a frequent visitor. In case you couldn’t tell, I run the Bank in this town. I keep a good eye on everyone’s money, and stop anyone from trying to steal it. Trust me, don’t attempt it. I’d say I’m a pretty important asset to this place, so feel free to stop by if you ever need to keep your money safe."

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Auryn

"...Say, since you’re new around here, I imagine you don’t have a lot of Poké of your own yet. I suppose since you’re with Nevermore, I wouldn’t mind helping you out a bit. Here, a gift from me. Hope it helps!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

You thank Auryn for his time, and Nevermore begins to lead you away, saying his own farewell to the Pokémon.
Once you’ve moved away, he turns to you.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Oh, a wonderful choice! I think you’ll come to adore this lovely little place! The Pokémon who runs it is more than happy to greet new faces in the town! Come now!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore guides you toward the building, allowing you to get a closer look. The structure appeared to be wooden and quite old, as if it had been here longer than most of the establishments in the town. Posters hung from the poles in front, showcasing advertisements and requests for teams to join, most of which looked fresh and clean, as if none of the papers would stay unanswered for long.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

On the benches outside the building, many Pokémon were casually conversing with each other and relaxing. Some were playing board games together on the tables, while others were resting in the shade that the overhang provided. As you and Nevermore approached the doorway, a small group of Pokémon rushed out excitedly, giggling to each other and making their way past you.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Now isn’t that just a wonderful sight? It’s enough to warm your heart right up! That team has just found themself a new member, by the looks of it! They look quite pleased, too! I’d say that they make a wonderful fit, wouldn’t you?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore laughed gently at the group as they disappeared into the distance, shifting his focus back onto you before pushing open the door at the front with a wing, gesturing for you to go ahead of him and enter the building.Inside, the building had a much roomier space than the sitting area outside. All the way to the right, a long seat was positioned against a wall, and a small bookshelf beside it was neatly filled with a few books, varying between activity books and comforting stories. To the left, a wide desk stretched out from the wall and into the middle of the room, only paired with a single chair behind it, where a tall pink armored Pokémon that you had never seen before sat.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Valerie! How are you? Looks like things have been going well! Was that a newly paired team that left just now?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Valerie

"Oh, dear! Nevermore, I wasn’t expecting you!! Of course, of course! Things have been more than fine! I just helped that team find their newest member, and they instantly accepted them with open arms! Oh, you should have been here to see their faces!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Valerie seemed quite excited about the news, visibly perking up within her seat as she spoke. Though her species was still unclear. She seemed reminiscent of a Ceruledge or Armarogue, yet different enough to be neither. As Valerie spoke, she took notice of you, turning to face you with her surprised eyes. She took a moment to read your expression, pausing momentarily, before laughing.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Valerie

"Oh, Hello there! I apologize for not addressing you sooner. Are you new around here? Nevermore does tend to bring new recruits by here, so it’s only natural to assume…"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Valerie

"Is that right? Well, welcome, welcome! I certainly hope you can make yourself at home here in this little town of ours! As for me, my name’s Valerie! I’ll always be available to help you find team members if you ever find yourself interested in such a thing! That’s just what this little station’s for, of course! I help Pokémon find teams that fit just right, so you can trust me to help you meet your match!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"She’s quite right. I’ve seen many teams come and go over the years, but the one thing I can say for certain is that they always end up happier with their partners when they’ve been recruited in by Valerie! She just has the right touch for this kind of thing. Our Guild wouldn’t be the same without her help!"

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"You’d be correct, yes. I brought them in yesterday, and the plan was to show them around town today, just so that they could feel a bit more comfortable. They’ve only just arrived, but if everything goes well, we hope to see them join the guild team!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Valerie

"Oh, Congratulations then! I hope it all goes well, and I certainly hope you enjoy it here, newcomer! My name’s Valerie, and I run this little establishment! You can always come by here if you’re looking for more teammates. I’ll be sure to match you up with the most fitting partners that our town has to offer!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"I can agree with that! Valerie has been one of the guild’s most valuable assets, helping to keep many of our exploration parties stable with her unrivalled matchmaking skills! I’m sure you’d be quite impressed to see her at work if you ever pay her a visit! I’ll definitely encourage you to keep this place in mind!"

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Valerie

"You know, if you have a little time to spare, I’d love to demonstrate for you. I still have a few guests looking for a new team to join, and I’m certain there’s someone here who will suit you wonderfully! Come, let me introduce you to them, and you can take your pick!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Soon, you said goodbye, and Valerie gives you and Nevermore a small wave and a smile before getting back to work. She began carefully reviewing many papers on her desk and clipping them onto other sheets with a paperclip. Nevermore politely guided you toward the door and opened it up to allow you to pass through in front of him, before hastily guiding you back to the town.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

In the distance, a large tent drew you in closer, beckoning with its mystical appearance and glowing blue lights from within. As you grew closer, it became evident that the vibrant colors from within were coming from a small tray in the center of the floor that held carved crystals reminiscent of Dawn Stones. Inside, many cloth objects hung from hooks on a wooden rack. Nearby, a chest was filled with more objects than it could fit, causing the lid to stay open enough to look inside. The objects were various items needed for evolution, ranging from many colorful Elemental Stones to neatly wrapped Link Cables. Overall, the place seemed fairly packed with useful items.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

As you closed in on the entrance, an elegant Froslass appeared from behind the curtain in front, giving you and Nevermore a curious look. Intrigued by the new member being escorted by the Guildmaster, she moved closer to get a better look, exiting the shade of the tent and allowing the light from above to shine down upon her. In the sunlight, the horns upon the Froslass’s head glittered with a luminescent rainbow.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Dawn

"Oh my! Dear Nevermore, what a pleasant surprise! It’s wonderful seeing you here! Who’s this darling little Pokémon you’ve brought with you?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Dawn

"Oh, what a lovely name! That’s so inspiring, my dear. I wish you luck with your adventures. I can see such brightness in your future! My name’s Dawn, and I aid Pokémon with achieving their ideal forms, whether that may be through helping them evolve into a form they seek, or devolving those who decide they were happier the way they were before!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Dawn

"Dawn has such a strong understanding of what shines in a Pokémon’s spirit, and she helps them connect with forms that may have otherwise been too difficult to achieve on their own."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Dawn

"Of course! I once had a dream of my own… and I know how much it hurts to have a goal in mind that just feels like it’s too far away. With help, any Pokémon can find a form that reflects who they really are inside… Feel free to come back to me anytime. I promise to always provide advice to those in need."

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"This Pokémon is new around here, they just arrived yesterday, so we’re showing them around! Hopefully, if everything goes right, we may be seeing them join the Guild!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Dawn

"That’s so exciting to hear! I’m positively thrilled at the prospect of new members around town! Well, then! I shall introduce myself as well! My name is Dawn, and I personally handle the role of Evolution Aid! I help Pokémon reach their ideal forms, whether that may be through evolving or devolving them!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"This is true! Dawn has a strong sense for what shines in a Pokémon’s spirit, and she excels in connecting them with forms that may have otherwise been too difficult to achieve alone."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Dawn

"It’s the least I could do, of course… I know what it’s like to feel like the future you see for yourself is just too hard to reach. I want to make sure no other Pokémon ever has to deal with such a thing… Do feel welcome to visit me anytime in the future! I’d be happy to provide you with advice any time you need it!"

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Dawn

"Actually… Before you two head off, I do have something I think could help you out! You’re such an inspiring case, I feel that giving you a welcoming gift would be the proper thing to do in this situation. Here’s what I have to offer!"

Nevermore gave Dawn a polite bow of his head and turned to you with a calm nod, before saying goodbye and turning to return to the town center. Dawn waved back in response before making her way back into the shade of her tent to return to her work. Nevermore was careful in making sure you were following behind him, occasionally glancing back and waiting for you once enough distance was put between you and him… Eventually, you made it back to the main center of the town, looking out at the various other businesses.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"Of course. I’ll do my best to show you around the town. Whenever you’re ready, just follow me, and I’ll guide you around. We’ll return soon, Nevermore."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Nevermore

"Of course! Take care, you two!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

You soon follow Tundra out of the Guild, the Lucario taking the lead as you both head down the small path that leads to the town. You are met with several colorful stalls all run by varying Pokémon. The stalls are all covered in vibrant canopies, giving them a tent-like appearance, the business owners greeting any who pass by. As you stare at the busy town, Tundra holds out a paw towards a few of the businesses.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"It’s still early, but with the Guild being so close to the town, it can get pretty busy. I hope it doesn’t overwhelm you too much. If there’s anywhere in particular you’d like to visit, just let me know and we can head on over."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

As you make your choice, Tundra gives you an approving nod, before leading you over to the Market. It’s nothing particularly grand, but the small shop has a welcoming and cozy feel to it. Behind the counter stood a small cheerful Kecleon with a beaming smile on her face. She spots you and Tundra approaching her almost instantly, excitedly waving the two of you over.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

???

"Tundra! Hello, hello! It’s so nice to see you again! How have you been?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Arcadia

"Oh? Well it’s a pleasure to meet you! I do hope you enjoy your visit around town. You can call me Arcadia, and this is my Market! You can find pretty much almost everything you’ll need here, especially if you’re planning to explore and join the Guild."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

“Yes, Arcadia here is a rather important asset to the town, as well as a huge help to the Guild. We can’t thank her enough for all she’s done for us.”

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Arcadia

“Oh my, Tundra! I appreciate that a lot! But I’m just doing my job, that’s all! If there’s anything else you need from me, you just let me know, alright?”

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"They’re new around here, so I’m showing them around the town. Hopefully, they’ll join us as an official Guild member."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Arcadia

"Oh is that so? It’ll be so nice to have new faces around here. More faces means more conversations! Oh, if you don’t mind my rambles, that is. Well, my name is Arcadia, and I run the Market here! You can find pretty much almost anything you need here, so feel free to visit at any time! I’m more than happy to help in any way I can!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

“Correct, Arcadia’s little stall has proven time and time again to be a rather useful asset. If you ever need anything, be sure to visit her, and she’ll get you set right up!”

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Arcadia

"Why, I sell all kinds of things really. Though what I have each time you visit may vary depending on what I have in stock, but I’ll make sure to keep plenty of the essentials just in case. As you move further from the stall, he turns to you.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Once you make your choice, Tundra walks on ahead, leading you to a cozy wooden building. A small sign hangs by the door labelled as "Spinda’s Café". He walks inside, holding the door open for you as you follow him.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

The Café was somewhat small, but still several Pokémon were sitting around the building’s tables, drinking various berry juices or smoothies. Behind the counter stood, as expected, a Spinda, handing out a tray of drinks to some customers before they, too, moved to find a place to sit. Finished with the customers, she spots you and Tundra, beaming as she waves you over with her paw. She was.. unlike any Spinda you’d ever seen before, with a pair of antlers and dark wings. As she paced around behind the counter, you could’ve sworn you heard the tapping of hooves?

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

???

"Welcome welcome! Oh! Tundra, is that you? It’s so nice to see you! What’s up?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"Greetings, Ditzy. Hope you’re doing well. I see your Café is still running smoothly."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Ditzy

"That’s so cool! It’s wonderful to meet you! I hope you like it here so far! Our town has so much to offer, especially for cool explorers! Feel free to visit here anytime you’d like, we have plenty of drinks to offer!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

“Yes, of course. This little café has become a fairly popular spot for returning explorers to rest up after a long day. I hear the drinks here are especially delicious.”

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"They’re a new face around town, and are staying with us at the Guild for the time being. Hopefully, they’ll be officially joining us soon. For now, I’m simply showing them around town."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Ditzy

"Oh that’s wonderful, yes yes! I hope they’re having fun so far! There’s so many places to visit, it can be difficult to decide where to start! Please do feel free to stop by here if you ever need anything, either a break, or just a fresh cold Pecha smoothie! I’m always right here!"

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Ditzy

"Of course, drinks aren’t the only thing this place has to offer. We actually have our own little Questboard of sorts!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"Correct. With how many requests the Guild receives each day, we can only give our Guild members so many without overworking them. So the Guild and Ditzy’s Café partnered up, allowing Pokémon to send less dire requests here, like item requests or relaxed explorations, so they wouldn’t get drowned out by the more severe missions, such as rescues or escaped outlaws. Guild members can take on the quests left here whenever they like and not feel too much pressure."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Ditzy

"Yep yep! So if you ever need something to do, stop by, and sometimes there’ll be quests waiting here for you! Actually, while you’re here… I’ve been working on some special smoothies! I’m not quite sure what they do, but if you’d like one, you can take it, on the house! A welcome gift, if you’d like. Take your pick and take a seat, I’ll bring it right over once it’s ready!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

You finish up your conversation with Ditzy, saying farewell as Tundra escorts you back outside.
Once you’re back in the town, he turns to you.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

After deciding on where to go, Tundra begins leading you through the town, towards a small wooden shack across from the stalls.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"Over here is where you can find the Trading Post. The Pokémon who runs the place is typically pretty busy, so don’t feel too bad if they can’t stick around to talk for long. Come in, let’s head inside and I’ll introduce you."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Upon entering the Trading Post, you were met with a mostly open entrance with a small waiting area with a few benches, though they seemed to only be for short-term stays. Across from the door was a long counter, with a doorway that led to the back where a sparkly blur kept zooming past in the background. Behind the counter was a towering pile of boxes and pouches filled with money or items, and atop the wooden surface was a lone bell. Tundra gently urged you forward and reached over to ring the bell. Within seconds, the speeding blur appeared before you, beaming.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

???

"Heya! Sorry I didn’t see you come in. Oh! Hey Tundra, what can I do for ya?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"Greetings, Comet. Just as busy as always, hm? Well, we won’t keep you for long, I simply wanted to introduce you to our new friend here."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Comet

"New friend, huh? Cool! Always nice to see new Pokémon around the town. What’s up?"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Comet

"Awesome! Well, I’m sure everyone will be glad to have you around here. Name’s Comet, and I run this place. I make sure everything gets delivered to where it needs to be in record time, guaranteed! So if you ever need something sent somewhere, just let me know and I’ll get it done lightning fast!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

“I can confirm, Comet’s the town’s fastest delivery Pokémon. They’ll make sure every package gets delivered as fast as possible, so feel free to drop by if you ever need to trade something.”

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Comet

“Heck yeah! I’m always busy because of my work, but I get to race through the skies all day so it’s perfectly fine!”

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Tundra

"Hopefully, they’ll be joining us in the Guild soon. They’re new around here, but I’m showing them around the town and introducing them to anything they’ll need if they do decide to sign up."

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Comet

"That’s pretty cool! Well, if you do decide to join the Guild, you’ll likely wanna stop by here. If you ever need anything delivered anywhere, just let me know and I’ll get it sent to where it needs to be in no time!"

Selecting "Continue Conversation" will result in a prompt, ending Part 2.

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Comet

"Don’t worry, though, of course I’m not running this whole thing on my own, I have a few friends here and there who help me out from time to time. Though… speaking of, one of them’s been feeling kinda overwhelmed by all the work, and I think some adventuring would be a nice break for them. If you wouldn’t mind having them tag along, they could make for a pretty good teammate!"

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]
Prompt [B3]

Draw/write your Pokémon interacting with Comet, either by talking to them or meeting your new teammate.Minimum Requirements:
Art: Halfbody + Rough Finish + Clean Color
[Background is optional!]

Comet must be included within your entry. [Reference]Reward:

Act 0. [ Part 2 ]

Not wanting to keep Comet from their job much longer, you wrap up your conversation and say your goodbyes. Tundra leads you back into the town, turning to you.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Exploring the town the day before had taken a decent amount out of you, leaving you exhausted by the time you returned to the Guild. After Nevermore introduced you to the Guild’s cafeteria, where you were free to take some food to recover after a long day, the Guildmaster left you to return to your room to rest.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Whether the anticipation and excitement of the past few days kept you up through the night, or the sheer exhaustion took you right out the moment you settled on your bed, it didn’t take long for the next morning to arrive. Once again, warm sunlight filtered into your room, shining down on you, bringing a new day.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

It wasn’t very long before there was a soft knock at the door, followed by Tundra pushing it open. He greeted you with a friendly smile.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Good morning, I hope you had a good night’s rest."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Ah! Is that so? Well, I’m glad you’re enjoying your time here so far. Apologies that it managed to keep you up, though, but hopefully you’ll manage today’s plans without too much issue. Whenever you’re ready, come and meet me in the main area!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

With that, Tundra turned, closing your door, and left you be.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Ah, that’s unfortunate.. not a bad night, I hope? Or perhaps just so much going on keeping you up? Well, if you still feel up for it, I have something planned for you today. If you think you’ll be able to handle it today, I’ll be waiting in the main area of the Guild for you. Take your time."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

With that, Tundra closed the door behind him, leaving you in your room.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Well, I’m very glad about that. It’s nice to hear you got a good night’s sleep. Since you seem so well rested, I hope you’ll be ready for another busy day. Nevermore and I were talking for a while after you returned from your day around town, and we have another thing planned for you that I hope you’ll enjoy. Whenever you’re ready, I’ll be waiting in the main area to discuss it with you!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Beaming, Tundra closed the door to leave you be, leaving to go wait for you in the main Guild.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Once you decided you were ready, you exited your room in search of Tundra. This time, the Lucario was by himself, with no sight of the Guildmaster. As he spots you, he gives you a small nod and gestures you closer.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Ah, there you are! Thank you for joining me. Nevermore will unfortunately be rather busy for a while, so he’s asked me to assist you with the rest of the way."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Today, I planned to escort you through one of the nearby dungeons, and explain them a little more in depth. I’m aware you and Nevermore passed through a dungeon on the way to town, but the more experience you have with them, the easier exploring will become, and you’ll have me, the Dungeon Expert, there with you if you need anything!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Of course, the particular dungeons I have picked out are a few hours’ journey, so we’ll make sure we’re well prepared before we head out. But to know what we need, first we need to pick our destination. Our options today are Cherry Grove, Windy Hills, and Crimson Plains. The choice is all yours!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"A wonderful choice! Cherry Grove is a rather beautiful place, despite being a Mystery Dungeon. Of course, I do hope you’ll enjoy the visit. Very well, if that’s your choice, let us prepare, and we will head out right away!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

The Lucario left you be to allow you to prepare for the long journey, with Tundra also getting ready for the exploration. Well aware of what he’d need for the journey, Tundra finished preparing rather quickly, as though he always had everything he’d need on hand at all times. Now he was just waiting for you.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

As soon as you announced you were ready, Tundra gave a nod. With a map tucked in his belt and a small supply bag around his waist, he began leading you out of the Guild and out of the town. As promised, the journey was proving to be fairly long, the region so unbelievably large. While you followed Tundra, he assured you that you could ask for a break at any moment to rest up, explaining he’d made sure to bring along extra food to keep your energy up.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

It would take a while to reach your destination. You could continue in silence, or this could be a chance to learn more about your guide, the Guildmaster, or even the region you were in.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Hm? Oh, you wish to know more about me? Well, I am flattered. Where should I start? Well, did you know I’m not just a regular Lucario? I’m also partly Talgian Lucario. They’re a variant of Lucario that can only be found in this region, and are Dark and Ice types compared to the typical Fighting and Steel types. Though, you won’t find many of us this far South in Talgia, but maybe you’ll be able to run into some in the future. As for me specifically? Well, I mainly do my best to help out at the Guild. I’ve been researching these Dungeons for a few years now, and act as Talgia’s Dungeon Expert, giving advice to anyone looking to explore through them, and researching any new ones that may appear."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

It would take a while to reach your destination. You could continue in silence, or this could be a chance to learn more about your guide, the Guildmaster, or even the region you were in.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"My wisteria? Ah, I see you’ve noticed me wearing it. Perhaps you’ve also spotted it decorating the Guild and the town here and there too? Yes, wisteria plays a rather important role here in Talgia, ever since our region’s been slowly fading and changing. I’m unsure if it’s natural in other regions, but here in Talgia, wisteria holds a special mystical property: keeping our memories alive."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Ever since the fog that surrounds Talgia appeared, more and more Pokémon are forgetting themselves and those around them, as well as the memory of Talgia itself. Everything about Talgia and those within the region are fading from history.. though I’m sure Nevermore’s already explained that all to you. After all, it’s why he’s so focused on recruiting as many Pokémon to the Guild as possible, wanting to do everything he can to save Talgia from being entirely forgotten.. It’s.. terrifying…"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"AH- ahem, sorry about that. Anyway, yes, that’s what we use wisteria for. Many Pokémon opt to wear it on them, others use it to decorate their homes. Either way, it’s a big part of Talgia and is rather important in helping prevent our memories from fading away, and the headaches that can come from such a thing. Hopefully that explains what you wanted to know!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Nevermore, hm? You wish to know more about the Guildmaster? Well, I certainly know him pretty well. We’ve known each other for years, longer than the Guild’s been standing, in fact. It was his idea to start the Guild, when more and more Mystery Dungeons were starting to appear, and our history itself was fading more and more. He wanted so much to find a way to save the region, bringing in as many Pokémon as he could find that were willing to help us out."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"It’s very admirable, if I say so myself. He cares so much about Talgia and all of us living within the region…"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Huh? Oh- sorry about that. Yes, Nevermore is a wonderful Guildmaster, and I’m very honored to be running the Guild with him. I truly hope all of us working together will eventually save Talgia."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Talgia? You’re curious about the region? I can’t say I blame you, most information on Talgia has already faded away, and many Pokémon, both originating from within and outside of it, have forgotten most of what this region was even known for. That’s what the Guild is here to prevent. And, with hope, we aim to bring the region back, and the memories with it.A big part of what the Guild teams do is uncovering items of our past, special artefacts, or even uncovering forgotten parts of our beloved region. Perhaps one day, this fog that surrounds us will lift, and more of our region will return to us, but for now, we just explore what we can.The more teams we can recruit, the more hope we have of finding out the source of this fog, the fading memories, and perhaps we’ll even be able to stop it completely, and return Talgia to what it once was."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

You continue on the long journey in silence. Tundra occasionally speaks up, showing you the region as you near your destination, but doesn’t force you to respond, respecting your silence. Perhaps you’re just processing, or simply taking in the scenery around you, he doesn’t mind regardless. From time to time, he pauses to offer you a break or food, before continuing the walk to the dungeon. Before long, it finally comes into view.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

As the sun arches overhead, past its peak in the sky, Cherry Grove greets your eye. The dungeon, a beautiful forest with tall trees stands before you, soft pink petals and leaves creating a canopy above you, with a thin layer of strange mist tracing the blanketed ground. An unusual fog rests at the entrance of the forest, glittering like a strange barrier.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Beautiful, isn’t it? Unsurprisingly, this is a rather popular dungeon to visit, despite being, well, a dungeon. There’s almost something.. calming about this place, and even the inhabitants here are less aggressive compared to those living in other dungeons. Though, adventurers still need to be careful. There’s something off about this mist that can easily disorient you if you’re not paying too much attention, and some Pokémon can get lost because of it. Of course, more experienced teams can clear Cherry Grove with ease, but this is your first time, so I’ll be here to guide you!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

He gives you a moment to take in the dungeon, and once you’re ready, he begins to lead you into the Grove, past the fog barrier that almost seems to blur the land outside as you go in, as though this dungeon was on a separate plane to where you just were.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

As Tundra explained, a wave of calm washes over you, yet at the same time, so does a faint lightheadedness. You can only assume it to be an effect of the disorientating mist that lines the ground. Pale pink petals occasionally fall around you, dancing in a light breeze that brushes against you.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"We’ll need to tread carefully. Even if the dungeon Pokémon aren’t very aggressive, they can still get territorial or attack if they feel threatened. And the risk of getting lost is still always a possibility, though much lower the more experience you have."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

As he spoke, he pulled out the map from his belt, examining it for a moment, before holding it out for you to see as well. It became very quickly evident that it wasn’t a typical map when the images before you began to shift, as though displaying the ever-changing maze-like dungeon in real time. On the map before you lay two paths.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"As this is your first time, you can decide which way we go. Don’t worry about us getting lost- we’ll be perfectly fine, trust me. Just pick whatever path interests you."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra gave you an approving nod, taking another look at the map, memorising it, then tucked it back into his belt, and led the way.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

You followed him down the left path, the canopy overhead seeming to grow more dense, less light filtering through, and the blanket of leaves below you seeming thicker. Even the dizzying mist seemed to grow stronger, Tundra reminding you to stay close by.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

As you delve deeper into the dungeon, following the path you chose, you feel eyes penetrating into you. The Lucario pauses, eyes narrowing as he glances around, holding out a paw, gesturing you to wait. The tassels on his head raise, searching for the source of the uncomfortable feeling.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Heads up."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Jumping out from behind the trees, a Nidoran♂ and a Cherrim appeared, glaring at you and Tundra, seeming ready to battle.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Careful, seems like we’re going to have to fight these two if we’re going to make it through the dungeon. If you’re lucky, they may even admire your strength, so give it all you’ve got!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra gave you an approving nod, taking another look at the map, memorising it, then tucked it back into his belt, and led the way.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

You headed down the right path, warm sunlight shining down through the canopy of pink leaves, shimmering on the mystical mist that floated around you. A soft carpet of petals covers the ground, creating a blanket. As you continued on deeper, small grey stones dotted the forest around you, the light deepening into a slight reddish orange as the sun slowly descended in the sky.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

As the time went by, you and Tundra heading further and further, you could feel a curious gaze watching you, concealed within the mist… Tundra paused, sensing the same feeling. The tassels on his head raising slightly, searching for the source of the sensation.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Hang on a moment."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Cautiously, a Delcatty and an Applin stepped out from behind the trees, eyeing you and Tundra curiously.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Well, it seems some of the dungeon’s inhabitants have come to greet us. Hello, it’s nice to meet you both! It seems they’d like to get to know us a little more, maybe they’re even curious about joining you! What do you say?"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Yes, yes, of course! Windy Hills it is then! A rather interesting place, in my opinion. It may seem barren on the outside, but I assure you, it’s just as special as every other dungeon. We shall head out whenever you’re ready, if that’s the place you’d like to go!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra headed off to prepare for the journey, allowing you some time to yourself to get ready. Being an expert, the Lucario finished fairly quickly, now waiting for you before setting out.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

When you inform Tundra that you’re ready, he gives you a satisfied nod.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Ahead of you, standing tall in the distance was a valley of yellowed grassy hills decorated with golden heather and haybales, the land seeming to almost glow in the light of the overhead sun. As Tundra said, the land did seem rather barren, so much so that it was hard to believe such a place was in fact one of the maze-like Mystery Dungeons that were supposedly appearing all over the region. Still, you continued on, nearing the edge of the hills.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Seems so empty, doesn’t it? Yes, most Pokémon coming here for the first time think the same thing. And yet, many still manage to find themselves getting lost among the hills. Don’t be fooled by its appearance, you’ll still need to be careful here. This place is much bigger than it seems on the outside, but I’ll be here with you, so do not be afraid."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

He gives you a moment to take in the dungeon, and once you’re ready, he begins to lead you towards the mass of hills. As you step onto the yellowed windswept grass, a strange sensation passes over you, as though stepping into a whole other plane. Strong winds buffet you, tugging strongly at Tundra’s cape, blowing in no real direction as you are forced to stagger unsteadily. Strands of heather shakes in the strong wind, but surprisingly holds.Overhead, a couple of Hoppip and Jumpluff drift by, being tossed around in the powerful breeze, though at least they seem fairly content. Before you, the hills seemed to go on forever, towering above, impossible to see past them. Fighting against the wind, Tundra pushed on, leading you into the dungeon.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Even after reaching the peak of a hill, battling the opposing wind, the hills still seemed to go on forever, rolling out across the terrain. Only distant trees and mountains of very far away dungeons could be seen over the top of the hills, and most sounds were muffled by the roaring of the wind in your ears.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Watch yourself out here, it’s very easy to get snuck up on by Pokémon that are used to this place. Footsteps are near impossible to hear out here, and a few of them can easily get carried over to us on the wind itself. Be ready for anything."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Trying to stand with his back to the wind that blew from every direction, he pulled out his map, eyeing it carefully, before gesturing for you to take a peek.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Picking out your answer from the deafening wind, he gave an acknowledging nod, tucking the map back into his belt, safe from being blown away. Making sure you were still following, he began heading along the left path.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

You passed over several hills, being dragged all around thanks to the strong wind that gave this place its name. Tundra gave a small passing comment, explaining that the dungeon could sometimes be even more windy, making exploring dangerous, and other times it was no more than a whistling breeze. Today, however, it was a fairly powerful gale.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

As you continued on, small cries could be heard, muffled, yet nearby. Tundra paused, tassels raising, detecting the nearby area. Then, he turned to you, frowning in concern.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"There’s a Pokémon up ahead. Seems like it’s distressed."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

He set off again, towards the sound. Following him, you spotted a small Flaaffy struggling against the fierce wind that kept knocking them back down. With each failed attempt to get back up, they let out an irritated cry. Tundra nodded to you, before approaching the Pokémon.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

At your decision, Tundra acknowledged you with a nod and put away the map, setting off towards the right set of hills. He glanced behind himself, making sure the wind wasn’t troubling you too much.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Pushing through the gale, you managed to clamber over several towering hills, the sun descending slowly overhead, casting the yellowed fields in a golden glow. Amidst the roaring wind, faint angered cries could be picked out, Tundra quickly putting up his guard as he scanned your surroundings, tassels rising to detect the area.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Be careful- there’s enemies here."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Almost at once, a blur came barrelling down the hill towards you. Moving quickly, Tundra blocked the incoming attack with a Protect, the shape bouncing off the reflective screen and unfurling to reveal an angered Wooloo, with a Tandemaus hurrying after it, all seeming ready to fight.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"I was right. Be ready to fight, they won’t let us pass until we show them our strength. Maybe we can even convince them to join our side, so give it your all!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Ah yes, a really unique place I would say. An entire field of just red grass and trees. Such an interesting dungeon to visit. Yes, if you’re certain, then we can head out as soon as you’re ready to go!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra stepped into the Guild’s office to retrieve his own supplies, leaving you to prepare yourself for the exploration. Having done this countless times before, he was ready almost immediately, returning to wait for you.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

The moment you said you were ready, Tundra nodded and gestured for you to follow.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

The sun was past its peak in the sky, the day seeping into the early afternoon when you finally arrived at the dungeon. A vast, endless field of vibrant red grass extended out before you, with the occasional crimson tree scattered around the land. Surrounding the very edge of the dungeon, where the red grass gave way to the green of the outside, a thin veil of mist could be faintly seen in the sunlight, almost like a strange barrier.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Intriguing, isn’t it? Have you ever seen such a place? Just an entire field of crimson grass. No idea how such a thing came to be. Perhaps it has always been this way, or maybe it was the effect of the Mystery Dungeons turning it like this. Regardless, it is still a wonderful sight. If we stick around long enough, sunsets here are incredibly beautiful. Come, let me show you around."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

After giving you a moment to process the unique terrain, he leads you past the thin misty veil, a strange feeling washing over you, as though being hit by a short burst of cold air, but the feeling very quickly subsides. Tundra continues on, leading you across the Plains.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

A light breeze stirs the grass, rustling the vibrant red leaves on the trees around you, but it’s no more than that: a light breeze. Scarlet leaves occasionally dotted the ground, the shades barely even distinguishable, but as you ventured on, you couldn’t ignore the uneasy eerie feeling that seemed to follow you. Noting your reaction, Tundra spoke up.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Ah, of course. This place does have a certain... unsettling sensation about it, though you manage to tune it out or ignore it over time. It can be rather startling for newcomers, though, but it’s no more than a weird air, I assure you."

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

After a while of walking, he pauses, pulling out his map and glancing over it. A moment later, he waves you over, holding it out towards you.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

With your decision, Tundra nodded in agreement and tucked away the map, leading the way.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

You both continued down the left path, which presented itself as a simply darker line of red grass, trodden down over time, even though this terrain was ever-changing and never remained the same for very long. The eerie sensation gripped you tighter the further you went, with even Tundra letting out a subtle shudder, trying to brush the feeling off. He reassured you it was no more than the dungeon itself being strange, but the feeling still couldn’t be shaken that easily.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

The deeper you went, another feeling took hold: one of being watched. Tundra sensed it too, pausing, tassels lifting to pick out the origin of the sensation. His eyes narrowed as he eventually honed in on the source.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"Watch out, we’ve got company-!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Realising they’d been detected, two Pokémon jumped out from a nearby red tree. Before you stood a furious Zigzagoon and Ledyba, glaring at you, intruding on their territory.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"They’re not going to let us go easily. They want a fight! Give it all you’ve got. Maybe they’ll even want to come with us if we show them a good battle!"

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]
Prompt [C1]

Draw/write your Pokémon battling the enemies Zigzagoon and/or Ledyba. You may depict Tundra alongside you in your entry.Minimum Requirements:

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

The choice made, Tundra put away the map and gave an encouraging nod, satisfied. Gesturing to you, he continued on, leading the way through the Plains.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

You took the right path, exploring the Crimson Plains for a notable length of time. You watched as the sun descended lower and lower the longer you explored, the occasional dungeon inhabitant passing by in the distance, but not noticing you.Scattered scarlet leaves drifted around you, the gentle breeze rustling the grass below, the eerie sensation seeming to surprisingly ease a little. Perhaps it was less strong down this path, or you were simply growing used to it. Without the uneasy chill running down your back, the dungeon felt almost peaceful.

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Time continued on and soon the sun was dipping in the sky, casting it into a flaming amber. Faint wisps of clouds drifted past, their edges lined with gold. After a moment, Tundra paused, staring out across the Plains towards the setting sun. Then, he spoke up.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Act 0. [ Part 3 ]

Tundra

"If you’d like, we can take a break here. As I promised, the sunsets here are incredibly beautiful, and we’ve been exploring for quite a while now. I even have some food left over if you’d like. Here, there’s a nice spot over by this tree. Let’s call the adventure here, and we can begin heading home soon."

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

After returning from your journey through the dungeon, you returned to the Guild, the sky dark, dotted with glittering stars. Moonlight beamed down on you and Tundra as you both made your way back to the Guild. He led you to the Guild cafeteria, leaving you to get some food to recover from the long day, before you returned to your room to rest.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

The next morning soon arrived, though this time, you were left undisturbed. Sunlight beamed into the room, just as bright and golden as the past few days. Whenever you decided you were ready, you finally exited the room.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Standing in the main area of the Guild as usual was Tundra and Nevermore, the two finishing up a conversation, before the Guildmaster dipped his head to the Lucario and returned to his office. A moment later and Tundra’s tassels raised, turning to see you. Smiling, he waved you over.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Ah, good morning. Sorry I was late to wake you, Nevermore and I had something important to discuss.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Anyway, it’s good to see you awake. I do hope you slept well.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Ah, lovely. That’s wonderful to hear! The exploration through the dungeon must have exhausted you quite a lot! Well, don’t worry, today’s plans will be a lot less exhaustive.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Ah, I see, that’s unfortunate. Not for any bad reasons I hope? Well, hopefully today will be less overwhelming for you.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Today, I hope to introduce you to another major function of the Guild: Quests. They’re a key part in what we do, aside from exploring and uncovering dungeons.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra gestures for you to follow, leading you over to a decently sized corkboard pinned to the wall. Detailed, intricate carvings decorate the wooden frame, with strands of wisteria hanging down the sides. On the board itself, several pieces of paper were pinned, all with different requests written on them. Some were scrawled with frantic writing, others neat and elegant. Regardless, they were all from someone who needed help.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“This is the Guild’s Questboard. This is where all the dropped off quests get put up for our Guild teams to complete. Here, there are most often rescue quests, where someone is lost in a dungeon and needs help getting back out. Though you can also find escort quests, in which a Pokémon is interested in visiting a dungeon but needs a Guild team to go with them, either to explore or to find a missing friend. Sometimes, there’ll even be challenge quests! A Pokémon looking for a team to battle, and most often, will even ask to join their team as thanks.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Leading you to the opposite side of the room, a near identical board stood, though there was something notably different about them.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“And this here is the Guild’s Outlaw Notice Board. As you can likely guess by the name, this is where Wanted posters are put up, as well as more specific quests asking for help taking down criminals. Pokémon can appear in all kinds of bad, from mere petty thieves and bullies, to the lowest of the low… and the Guild aims to take down every single one.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“With Mystery Dungeons popping up all over, more and more criminals are appearing. Both of these things together keep the Guild’s hands full all the time, which is why we need so many teams, and ask them to take on as many quests as they can handle. The more Pokémon getting rescued or apprehended, the better, as it means Nevermore and I can focus on honing in on where the source of the region’s disappearance is coming from.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Today, my mission for you is to pick out a quest to complete, to get you used to the process. I’m sure there’ll be a few simple ones here that you can take on, or if you’d prefer, there may be one or two listed at the Spinda Café. There aren’t always quests there, but the ones that do get posted are much less dire and exhausting compared to the ones found here. So, the choice is yours. Would you like me to pick out some quests here, or would you like to check at the Café?”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Of course, understood. Then follow me, and we’ll find something for you that’ll be a good first Quest to take on.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

He heads back to the Questboard, staring intently at the various Quest options, searching for some that would be good to help you get started. A few long moments of consideration pass, and he finally makes a decision, picking out three specific Quests, turning to you.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“I have three Quests here: Item Retrieval, Rescue, and Escort. Don’t worry too hard about Outlaws just yet, I’ll teach you about those within time. For now, take a look through these and let me know if any catch your eye.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

1. Quest Summary

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra nods in understanding, then leads you out of the Guild and down towards the town. Sunlight beamed down on the bustling town, several Pokémon and stall owners greeting you as you and Tundra passed by. It didn’t take long for you to arrive at the small building that held the Spinda’s Café. He pushed the door open, politely gesturing for you to head inside, before following behind you.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Several customers were seated around the Café, some drinking fresh berry smoothies, others chatting to each other, while a few seemed to be tired adventurers taking a moment to rest. Hurrying around the room was the owner of the Café, Ditzy. She frantically rushed around the room, delivering drinks with a warm friendly smile, before finally spotting you and Tundra.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Ditzy

“Oh my! I didn’t expect to see you again so soon, Tundra!”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Ditzy

“Welcome, welcome! Come on in! It’s wonderful to see you! How can I help you both?”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“It’s great to see you again, too, Ditzy! We’re not here for very much, but we are wondering if you have any new Quests today. I’m teaching our friend here how Quests work, and they were curious if you happened to have any.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Ditzy

“Oh! Quests? Yes, yes! We did get a few brought in very recently! There may still be a few available, let me check!”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

You and Tundra follow the small Spinda over to the Café’s own personal Questboard, where a few pieces of paper remained pinned to the board. The two Pokémon eyed the listings carefully, discussing quietly, before pulling down two of the papers, turning to you.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Alright. We have two possible options here for you, if you’d like to take a look. Read them over, and let me know what you think!”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

1. Fantastical Flowerfield
Hi hi! I do hope you don’t mind the request, but me and my partner Comfey would love to go to Vibrant Meadow to collect some flowers! I know it doesn’t seem like much, but it’s Audino’s birthday soon, and the two of us alone won’t be able to collect enough flowers for her! Would you be able to help?
Depict your Pokémon collecting flowers with Flabébé and/or Comfey
Reward: 3,000 P + x1 Smoothie of your choice

2. Anxious Aria
My friend really needs some help. She has a concert coming up soon, but she’s really nervous! I really think it would help her a lot to have a small audience she could sing to in preparation for her big night. If you wouldn’t mind, I think she’d really appreciate it. We’ll be in the centre of town tonight if you’d like to join us.
Depict your Pokémon attending Brionne’s practice performance in the town
Reward: 3,000 P + x1 Smoothie of your choice

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Ah, do none of these interest you? Don’t worry about that! I’m sure there’ll be one back at the Guild that will catch your eye. Apologies for the interruption, Ditzy.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Ditzy

“Not at all! It was a pleasure seeing you two! I hope the rest of your day goes well! Take care!”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

At your request, Tundra returns the Quest papers to Ditzy and begins leading you back towards the Guild. Once you return, he heads over to the Guild’s Questboard, looking it over with great focus. After scanning the board for a few moments, he carefully plucks some of the papers and turns back to you.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Ah, it seems Comet’s the one in need of help in this one. A missing package, hm? Very well, if this is the Quest you wish to take on, I shall lead you to Cherry Grove, but you’ll need to search for the lost item on your own. I’ll be checking on Comet to see if they need any extra hands cutting down on their deliveries.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Returning the other two pieces of paper to the board, he hands your chosen Quest to you, informing you to keep it with you, both as a reminder, and as proof once you’ve completed the mission. He helps to prepare you for the long journey and soon leads you out of the Guild, and off towards the distant pink forest. It takes a while to finally arrive outside of the pink Grove, thick glittery mist trailing along the petal covered ground. Tundra looks at you, nodding confidently.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Alright. Here you are: Cherry Grove. You’ll have to complete this one on your own, but I have every faith in you. Go through the dungeon and find the missing package. Once you find it, you can make your way back home and return to the Guild, where you can drop off the item and we’ll inform Comet to come pick it up, as well as drop off your rewards. Everything make sense? Then off you go, and stay safe!”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra says his farewell to you as he watches you enter the forest. A chill settles on you for a moment once you step through the foggy barrier that separates the dungeon from the region outside, but it fades quickly, and your Quest has begun.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

“An adventurous Tepig, hm? Poor thing. The Water types in Crystalline Pond can be rather aggressive if one isn’t careful, so I can certainly see their concern. If this is the Quest you wish to choose, then I shall escort you to the outskirts of the Dungeon, though you will need to complete this one on your own.”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

You, Tundra, and the client all begin heading North of the town towards the vast lake. It takes a while, but you soon finally arrive at the Dungeon. Tundra looks at you, nodding confidently.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Alright. Here you are: Crystalline Pond. Unfortunately, I can’t go with you on this one, you’ll need to complete it on your own. But there’s a river that runs through the Dungeon and straight to the pond, so just stick close to that if you’re worried about getting lost.”

Alright then, if this is the Quest you’d like to take on, I can lead you down to Obsidian Shoreline. You’ll need to complete this one on your own, however. He helps to prepare you for the long journey and soon leads you out of the Guild and South of the town. A vast beach with a long stretch of smooth black sand lines the very edge of the shore, with towering palm trees and smooth grey stones propped up all along the beach. Tundra looks at you, nodding confidently.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Alright. Here you are: Obsidian Shoreline. This one’s always been strange to understand, seeing as only part of it acts as a Dungeon. See that thin fog in the sunlight? That’s the only sign where the Dungeon actually lies, and it’s even harder to spot on gloomy days, so it’s easy to accidentally stumble into it. I suppose the Sableye got so excited looking around that they didn’t realise they’d walked right on into the Dungeon. Now, it’s your job to find them, and bring them back out safely. Think you can do it? Then go ahead, and be careful!”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra watches you as you descend the slope that leads to the beach. The sand is smooth and silky, dark as night, hence the beach’s name. It isn’t a very far walk before you end up right at the faint foggy barrier that separates the land from the Dungeon, and as you step through it, a chill runs down you. The sensation disappears rather quickly, and your Quest has begun.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Ditzy

“Oh that’s such a sweet request! I’m very happy for the three of them! Oh! I should prepare some drinks for when they come here to drop off your rewards!”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

You and Tundra watch as Ditzy hurries off back behind the counter, scrambling to prepare a few drinks.
The Lucario gives an entertained laugh, before turning to you.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“This does sound like a very sweet mission, and sounds far less exhausting. Just a simple request to collect some flowers for a birthday. Very well, if you wish to take on this Quest, we can head out. However, I won’t be going into the Dungeon with you this time, you’ll need to complete this one by yourself. But don’t worry, I know you can handle it!”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Returning the other piece of paper to the board, he hands your chosen Quest to you, informing you to keep it with you, both as a reminder, and as proof once you’ve completed the mission. He helps to prepare you for the long journey and soon exits the Café, leading you through the town in search of the Pokémon in need of the assistance. It doesn’t take too long before you find them, informing them of your decision to accept your request. They seem very grateful for your help, and Tundra begins leading the way, heading East of the town and towards the Dungeon.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

The journey to the Meadow takes a little while, but you soon arrive, the colorful collection of flowers greeting you. Lush grass covers the Dungeon, the occasional tree standing tall and strong in the day’s warm light. Tundra looks at you, nodding confidently.

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra

“Alright. Here you are: Vibrant Meadow. One of the easiest Dungeons to navigate and complete, as well as being very pretty to explore. I wish you all luck with finding the flowers you need, and I shall await your return back at the Café. Stay safe, and good luck!”

Act 0. [ Part 4 ]

Tundra then turns to head back to the town, leaving you with your clients. Soon, you step into the Dungeon, a momentary chill descending upon you as you pass the veil that separates the Meadow from the grassland behind you, though the feeling fades quickly. With your clients following behind you, your Quest has begun.

“A singing performance! That sounds so wonderful! I do hope the little show can help the poor Brionne. She sounds like a wonderful Pokémon! Oh! I should bring some drinks to the show tonight!”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Another day completed, you return to the Guild, with Tundra proudly praising you for the Quest you managed to complete on your own. Even the Guildmaster himself exited his office to congratulate you on a successful job. As the night draws on, soon you return to your room to rest after the long day. The night is quiet, with everyone in the Guild deeply asleep, but the morning soon arrives once again, light bathing your room once more.

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

It seems you were left to sleep in a little while longer, since neither Tundra nor Nevermore come to disturb you. However, you soon decide to emerge from your room and head over to the main area of the Guild. As usual, Nevermore and Tundra are in conversation.

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

As you approach, the two notice you and wave you over, greeting you with their typical friendly smiles and warm welcomes. Nevermore in particular seems pretty happy.

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Nevermore

“Ah! Good morning! Tundra and I were discussing your efforts the past few days, and we couldn’t be prouder of how well you’ve done so far! Why, it feels like you practically fit right in here!”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Tundra

“Yes, Nevermore, I agree. You’ve done incredibly well, both with your Dungeon trip, and the Quest I sent you out on. Even the Pokémon around town are happy to have you here.”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Tundra

“In fact, you’ve been picking things up so well that there isn’t really much left to teach you. So today we only have one last task for you… provided that you’re up for it, of course.”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Nevermore

“We hope your time here has shown you how we operate and what exactly it is we do here at the Golden Orchid Guild. Though more than anything, we hope your time here helped you come to a conclusion as to whether or not you’d be interested in officially joining us here in the Guild. We truly would appreciate having extra help, and the more Pokémon willing to join us, the closer we are to being able to discover the root of Talgia’s problems and save our region once and for all.”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Tundra

“So how about it? Did you come to a decision?”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Nevermore

“Ah… I suppose that is a shame…”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Nevermore

“Well, it can’t be helped. We honor your decision, and even if you’re not interested in being part of the Guild, we do still wish you well, and hope you’ll still aid in defending Talgia when the time comes.”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Tundra

“Of course. Even though we couldn’t interest you, I’m still proud of how well you did during your time here, and I hope you can use those new skills in the future. Even if you’re not part of the Guild, as long as you’re still willing to help those around you, then I’m more than satisfied. We wish you well on your future endeavours, and perhaps someday, we shall meet again.”

Your story ends here, adventurer...
You have chosen to decline the guild's offer to let you join, opting to live a life of your own...
But that's not how this story really ends, is it?
There's always another way.
Talgia needs you...

You watch as Nevermore beams, his wings flapping in immense excitement, bursting with energy. Tundra folds his arms, smiling and shaking his head softly.

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Tundra

“Now, now, dear Nevermore. I see your excitement, but let’s focus on our new friend here, shall we?”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Nevermore

“Oh, yes, of course! My apologies. It’s always wonderful news to have more Pokémon join us here at the Guild. If this truly is your decision, then we only have one last task for you, and you’ll officially a member of the Golden Orchid Guild.”

Act 0. [ Part 5 ]

Tundra
